Some recent listener feedback
Hello Bruce.
Thank you for the pedagogical way of showing how to use the Adobe Audition 3 and making me so interested.
All the best
Kasper
Actually, Adobe and Lynda are the ones that should be thanking you.
I purchased both Audition and a subscription to Lynda based solely on what I'm hearing on your excellent programs.
And I hate the word podcasts.
It lumps you in with all the a**holes that think they are content producers because they have a microphone and an internet connection (and you are obviously a professional dedicated to his craft, and know how to produce content).
They just don't know what they don't know!

I'm a long time listener to your Building the Pod and Sine Language shows, and would like to thank you for producing such informative and interesting podcasts.
I'm a media production student at the University of Lincoln in the UK and your Audition guides really helped me during the radio production aspect of my course.

I've only recently decided to get back into music production after a prolonged absence.
So, when it came to choosing a DAW, it came down to a choice between FL Studio and Audition.
Dollar wise, quite similar although FL Studio does offer more in the way of virtual instruments for this price range.
But I chose Audition for two clear reasons.
1. I really like the look and feel. The layout is just easy on the eye and made sense to me very quickly.
2. I knew I had a great teacher. I discovered Building the Pod through the Adobe web site and soon found Sine Language.
I have to thank you sincerely for your weekly tuition.
It has turned a somewhat severe learning curve into managable bite size pieces.
I simply can't overstate how thankful I am of your weekly podcasts.
Bye for now.

Oh thank you god a podcast showing you how to properly make podcasts. Thank you Bruce Williams!

Well, I’m slowly getting those catgeory links in place. HUGE thanks go out to Michael who has (so far) been through 10 episodes of BTP and given me the key topics. If any one else has got some time to donate to listening back to some old episodes, that would be greatly appreciated.
This week, I take a close look at Mike Wills’ podcast Mikeshotdish, and the way it’s mixed. Specifically, how to mix your voice over track with a high energy music track and not lose the vibe by having to pull the music down radically when the voice over starts.

Hi all,
Seems there are one or two bugs still running round giving the RSS feed some grief.
I’ve employed an entire army of code monkeys to find the…
oh, ok, 5 guys to…
(blush) alright, one guy… and he’s doin’ it for free…
but trust me, we’ll get this thing sorted.
No really, we will!
Hang in there.
Cheers,
Bruce.

It has been brought to my attention that there might be a slight problem with some browsers not parsing the RSS feeds correctly.
Now, while it may seem obvious that if anyone was having problems with the feed, they wouldn’t be reading this…. I just want to throw this out there, JUST IN CASE! Perhaps people having problems with the feed have come to the site, and if that’s the case, hopefully they’ll see this post.
So, if you are experiencing any dramas with the new system, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Just drop me a quick e-mail and say “Dude, it’s all busted-like!”
Cheers,
Bruce.

…is gone!
Quite a few people have commented today about how hard it was to read the links on the Home Recording Network banner, because of the dark blue text on the maroon background.
And I agree.
And because that banner is not something I created (it was an external link), I’m removing it until such times as I can work out how to get the colour changed dynamically. If anyone knows how that could be done, or thinks they might be able to help, please drop me an e-mail at studio@audio2u.com
Cheers,
Bruce.

Listeners to “Building The Pod” will have heard me mention (on numerous occasions) my involvement with the recording, mixing and mastering of Dave Garner’s music.
Well, after a mere 3 years (Ye Gods… aren’t you glad you weren’t waiting on a heart transplant?), Dave’s new album “Hard Road Home” is available now.

You can check out some samples from the album at Dave’s MySpace page, and you can order a copy from Dave’s site and pay with complete confidence through PayPal.
Musically, the album is a little bit of Bruce Springsteen, John Hiatt, Steve Earle, Melissa Etheridge and Lucinda Williams… you kinda get the idea? Rock/country crossover.
Both Dave and I are very happy with the way this has turned out. For those interested in the technical side, the whole thing (live drums and all) was recorded in my house, straight into Adobe Audition (first in v1.5, later in v2.0). It was then mixed and mastered entirely in Audition v2.0 (with a few plugins for good measure!).
End of plug.

When you go to click on a Category tag over there –>
on the right hand side, just be sure you click under Category and not (like I’ve done a few times!) , under the RSS Feeds heading!

In episode 95, Bruce takes you on a step-by-step tour of mastering a song (or two) using Izotope’s Ozone plugin.
And here’s a cbr320 version of the mp3 for those who’d like the hi-def experience!
Again, be warned. This is not for the bandwidth impaired. It’s around 110MB in size!
