Some recent listener feedback

Hello Bruce.
Thank you for the pedagogical way of showing how to use the Adobe Audition 3 and making me so interested.
All the best
Kasper

Actually, Adobe and Lynda are the ones that should be thanking you.
I purchased both Audition and a subscription to Lynda based solely on what I'm hearing on your excellent programs.
And I hate the word podcasts.
It lumps you in with all the a**holes that think they are content producers because they have a microphone and an internet connection (and you are obviously a professional dedicated to his craft, and know how to produce content).
They just don't know what they don't know!

I'm a long time listener to your Building the Pod and Sine Language shows, and would like to thank you for producing such informative and interesting podcasts.
I'm a media production student at the University of Lincoln in the UK and your Audition guides really helped me during the radio production aspect of my course.

I've only recently decided to get back into music production after a prolonged absence.
So, when it came to choosing a DAW, it came down to a choice between FL Studio and Audition.
Dollar wise, quite similar although FL Studio does offer more in the way of virtual instruments for this price range.
But I chose Audition for two clear reasons.
1. I really like the look and feel. The layout is just easy on the eye and made sense to me very quickly.
2. I knew I had a great teacher. I discovered Building the Pod through the Adobe web site and soon found Sine Language.
I have to thank you sincerely for your weekly tuition.
It has turned a somewhat severe learning curve into managable bite size pieces.
I simply can't overstate how thankful I am of your weekly podcasts.
Bye for now.

Oh thank you god a podcast showing you how to properly make podcasts. Thank you Bruce Williams!

Next Adobe e-seminar

Filed under: Adobe Audition,Building the Pod,Sine Language,Soundbooth,e-Seminar — Bruce Williams @ 17:53

Ohhh yeah, baby! Am I looking forward to this one!
November 6th.
12 noon Australian Daylight Savings Time.
Mark it in your diary.
This e-seminar is called “Adobe Audio Tools : Audition 3 and Soundbooth CS4″.

Dust, and other obstacles

Filed under: Building the Pod,Sine Language — Bruce Williams @ 17:45

My apologies once again.
This week, the severe dust storms over Sydney gave my lungs and sinuses grief (listen to the episode of Shutters Inc which I somehow managed to struggle through, for evidence), while an ear infection in my right ear is making the concept of sticking headphones on my head one I’d rather not contemplate.
Gonna be an interesting day at work tomorrow to say the least!
All of which is a long way of saying, you guessed it, no BTP or SL this week.

Adobe e-seminar today

I dropped the ball on this one.
Normally I give plenty of notice of upcoming e-seminars, but this time, I managed to completely forget about it.
So, for anyone who has nothing happening 4 hours from now, I’ll be conducting an e-seminar today on “Audio tools for video production”, which will cover both Soundbooth and Premiere Pro CS4.
If you’re interested in attending, please do.
It’s free.
See you there.

No BTP or SL

Apologies again, gang.
Just one of those ‘hamster’ weeks… no matter what, I couldn’t get ahead.

George Massenburg at Integrate ’09

Filed under: Building the Pod,Integrate '09,Sine Language,trade show — Bruce Williams @ 21:05

As you may recall, in August I attended the inaugural Integrate pro audio, video and lighting trade show here in Sydney.
At that show, George Massenburg was the keynote speaker, and thankfully, the guys at Integrate have just released George’s keynote discussion as a 2 part video on YouTube.

But fear not. You needn’t go searching for them, because you can see them both right here.

This (or ‘these’ if you prefer) is (are) definitely worth watching!

Building The Pod – episode 137

This week, a quick follow up clarification on something I mentioned in ep#136 regarding the ‘order’ of filters. Thanks to Jim Weishorn for pointing out the ambiguity (or error) of my comments.
Then Ron Tostevin asked about purchasing a second-hand Mackie Control Universal off EBay now that the prices of same have come down so much.
Also, the ‘Donate’ button is now back on audio2u.com, so if you feel like making a donation toward paying for the bandwidth, that would be greatly appreciated!
And then, it’s on to the ‘modulation’ sub-menu of the effects menu, which includes Chorus, Flanger and the Sweeping phaser.

The Donate button is back

A few people have been calling for the donate button to be re-instated on audio2u.com.

So, it’s back!
It’s up there in the top left hand corner.
So, if you’re feelin’ the love and want to say “Thanks for the podcasts”, then a donation of whatever amounts suits you wil be gladly accepted, and hugely appreciated.

Thanks one and all!
